On Saturday 22 June it was the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year and the longest and darkest night. It begins a new cycle, a shift in energy and a time to be still, evaluate and turn your focus within.
It’s a fantastic time to set intentions for the next six months in your life and business. It’s a time to get clear on what you really want – what you want to create and how you want the rest of your year to look.
Being a business owner, the start of a new financial year is also when I like to check in with the goals I set for myself at the start of the year and see how I am tracking.
Have you achieved some of your goals already? Do you need to set new goals? Have you gone off course or taken a detour? Perhaps you need to reassess where to put your focus, and determine what is needed to set you on the right path again.
For me, this means time to connect with nature, be still and listen. Listen for the lessons in everyday situations and experiences. What lessons have you learnt so far this year?
Recently I had the opportunity to reassess the systems and processes I had put in place in my own business. I had attracted a number of new clients and was feeling overwhelmed, disconnected and as a result had been ignoring all my lovely new clients. I hadn’t even on boarded them! I did some personal development and I got a big aha moment.
Why am I on boarding my clients? Why am I doing the start up training? I have support who could do all this!! I have always felt that clients were coming to work with me and would only want me. So I have been the contact for everything. Wow, what a bottle neck in my business I’ve been. So I have created an on board sequence for all my new clients that frees up my time. The journey of an entrepreneur is nothing but self development in disguise!
If you take the time to look within, there are always opportunities to grow, to prove to yourself that you’re stronger and more capable than you think and to get clear on what you really want for yourself, your life and your business.
